The NEW Shakira video and another favorite hobby of mine: Anime

So, today I had planned on being at another ABC Daytime Emmy Mall Event but I didn't at the last minuted because my weekend is a nightmare. I have to move on Tuesday and I am not ready at all. Also on Tuesday I have my last midterm and it's going to be a DOOZY!!

Instead I'm at home packing and studying for a midterm next week.

I decided to take a break and went on You Tube to look at Shakira videos.

I adore Shakira so here's her new video: Hips Don't Lie featuring Wyclef Jean

Enjoy!

Yes thanks to YouTube the art of embedding video has been given to me. I am VERY happy about that folks. Unfortunately for ya'll, if you should choose to play all my videos, it also means I get to do clips from my favorite couple EVERYDAY. What favorite couple you may ask? Well if you had ever actually read the old blog or even this new blog you would discover my adoration of Renee Elise Goldsberry, Micheal Easton, and the characters they portray J*** and Evangeline. [I refer to ME's character as That Man because he is not the John McBain I knew and loved; please read earlier postings] Yes, a clip a day sounds darn good to me. Hmm also Music Videos made from the clips sounds fab too.

Here's few more Shakira clips

So I don't think I've talked about my love of anime on here. Let me tell how long I've adored anime. Back when I was in sixth grade my little brother somehow managed to hear about this anime called DragonBall Z or DBZ. My Mom would drive us an hour away to a electronic store called SoftWare Seconds that has TONS of anime title on tape. This was before the whole DVD thing happened so the horrid tracking and all was to be expected. The next year a show named DragonBall started coming on Fox at 9am on Sundays. It was the first part of DBZ which we had known NOTHING about so we started watching that too.

I remember my freshman year of highschool or the summer before it started USA Network started playing a show called Sailor Moon. It just occurred to me that the Cartoon Network, the current powerhouse for Anime, was WAYY behind the curve on putting it on television. I mean FOX beat everybody to it. Anyway Sailor Moon was awesome and my entire family would watch it when it came on early in the morning...or record it. I remember my brother and I were on punishment and my Mom and Dad locked their room door and watched the Season 1 Finale to Sailor Moon without us. We sat outside the door trying to listen but it was not cool at all.

My family used to watch alot of stuff together....soaps, Oz, Just Shoot Me, Sex and the City, The Sopranoes, Alias, and a ton of other shows. Heck when I go home to visit, with and without my husband, we STILL watch TV together. We also call and harass each other constantly but that's family right lol.

We all LOVE Veronica Mars. If you don't know who Veronica Mars is you need to go and pick up Season 1 on DVD ASAP...like yesterday.

I love anime...I currently am trying to watch all the episodes of Ranma 1/2 again because I adore that show. I have a bunch of other anime that I've had for a few years now that I haven't quite finished up yet. I know bad Hipployta but sometimes life gets in the way of your hobbies. For instance I haven't been to a dance class in goodness knows how long. Just can't fit it into my schedule *Hipp pouts*

I recently got all the episodes of Samarai Champloo because someone on the ABC MB was talking about it but I haven't watched any yet.

I also adore some Japanese Live Action shows. When they made Sailor Moon into a live action version called Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon you better believe I downloaded or bought the episodes fansubbed from people living over there. There is this one anime, I think Gokenshen or something to that affect, about a third generation head of a crime family who is also a teacher that they made into live action that was AWESOME too. I'll probably show those at some other time.

So the last video for today will be Sailor Moon clips put to music...as in a Sailor Moon music video. In keeping with my theme for today it will be put to the music of Shakira's song Don't Bother off of her latest cd Oral Fixation Vol 2 [although I don't speak Spanish, No hablas espanol, I DO have Oral Fixation Vol 1 too].

It is from...Sailor Moon S I believe...the third season when Professor Tomoe had his daughter Hortaru brought back to life by allowing Mistress 90 to inhabit her. However Hortaru is ALSO Sailor...Saturn [I can't recall exactly]. Sailor Saturn is pretty awesome in later seasons after they re-age [long story]. Dead Scream is an awesome move but Sailor Saturn's main move involves destroying herself. Which makes me wonder about the whole trend of hero suicide on Sailor Moon.

Anyway this season the Death Busters were stealing Heart Crystals in order to find the Talismans while the Sailor Senshi stop them. Interestingly enough the Sensei had the Talismans all along. Anyway Mistress 90 takes over Hortaru and takes out the inner senshi while Uranus and Neptune are at a lost for what to do. Sailor Moon can't transform and Mistress 90 is about to destroy everything. That sets the stage and gives you some understanding of what's going on.

Also it's in subtitles because I cannot STAND dubbed versions of Anime. It never evokes the same feeling.

I will return as soon as I can create my JoVan clip for the day

Oh What the Heck...here is an AWESOME Live Action Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon clip I found on YouTube. The song is Heaven...I'm sure you remember it

This is an overview of the first season of Live Action Gokusen...Awesome..the second clip is the opening credits for the anime version

Beautiful Kisses
Hipployta
